Environmental Compliance - means conforming to environmental laws, regulations, standards
and other requirements. All industries have environmental compliance responsibilities and these responsibilities
are strongly enforced. These standards are maintained to insure that the impact of hazardous waste is greatly mitigated
in its influence on our environment and to insure the health of the public against the possibility of exposure
to these dangerous industrial byproducts. Indeed, it is the company that rigidly maintains compliance with these
guidelines and provides environmental training to its employees, that demonstrates they care not only about the
environment, but also about their fellow man.
Historically, organizations have managed their own environmental training challenges in response to external pressure
from government agencies, environmental interest groups, and citizens focusing mainly on regulatory compliance.
Today, companies recognize the importance of sound environmental management practices that can result in economic
gain and increased public notoriety. These benefits alone can often provide a company enough reasons to implement
a policy compliant with the ISO 14001. More info

Transportation Compliance - According to the US Department of Transportation (DOT), over 800,000 shipments
of hazardous materials are transported under DOT compliance, in the United States every day. The materials shipped
include those of chemical, petroleum, radioactive, explosive, and poisonous natures. Of the 800,000 shipments,
the majority are transported by truck on the nation's roads, with the rest divided among rail, pipeline, water,
and air. These hazardous materials are classified by the DOT according to the type of hazard they present and must
be transported under the proper regulations set out by the DOT. These regulations for the packing and shipping
of hazardous materials are needed in today’s environment as a single incident can have a far reaching impact.
Who remembers the Exxon Valdez? Exxon Valdez was the original name of an oil tanker owned by the former Exxon Shipping
Company. It became a household name after the oil spill in which the tanker hit Prince William Sound's Bligh Reef
and spilled an estimated minimum 10 million gallons of crude oil into the ocean. This has been recorded as the
largest oil spill in history and one of the largest ecological disasters, costing Exxon almost 6 billion dollars
in litigation, not including the cost of the cleanup. This case , while extreme, highlights the results of what
can happen when even a single portion of the compliance to DOT standards are forgotten and why any organization
dealing with packaging and shipping hazardous goods should have a strong business development plan for maintaining
compliance with the DOT guidelines.
Let ENO’s Online training for Transportation Compliance show you the rules and regulations you need to know to
maintain compliance with the DOT guidelines for hazardous goods! More info
Legal Compliance - Understanding the laws and regulations incorporated in legal compliance is vital for
all members of any given company. Without the right compliance training of these legal mandates, the lack of employees'
knowledge could prove to be a company's worst liability. Compliance training not only decreases the likelihood
of going through a lawsuit, but it reduces the company's exposure to legal liability and helps protect the company’s
overall image. However, individuals must take just as much responsibility of being total compliant, as they will
ultimately be held responsible for their own actions.
ENO's legal compliance training includes an overview of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
(HIPAA), which examines the privacy provisions under HIPAA for patients and employees involved with covered entities.
This course explains the patient’s rights to copies of their own medical records and the disclosure rules to who
else has that right and when. Our HIPAA online training course also teaches organization how they are affected
by HIPAA and how the privacy rules influence them. More info |
